Taming A Wild Horse [EP 4]
In this video I focus on desensitizing the Wild Horse to the Tarp! His reaction is definitely more intense than usual with him attempting to buck the tarp off his back! Eventually he allows me to put it on him and he relaxes with the tarp. We're still dealing with very dangerous kicking out throughout the lesson so I have to be very careful about where I stand and watch the horse at all times! progress is still slow but there is some improvement as the days progress!

This WILD HORSE Is CRAZY! | Taming A Wild Horse [EP 2]

This horse is already pushing me to the absolute limits of my horsemanship! He’s taken the longest of any horse I’ve ever worked with to halter and he has been extremely resistant to my attempts to control him through body language in the pen. Progress is slower than usual but he is still learning. It looks like it’s going to be a lot harder than I expected to train this horse! Check out Horse ...

      Sorry I didn’t respond to this sooner! I know how every day feels like an eternity until our horses are better! This happened to my horse 3 times total and I’ve seen varied results because I tried different things every time. The time that healed the best is when I used veterycin wound care 2wice daily and real aloe Vera plant right on the wound. I would wrap it up to keep flies out and to keep it moist. It really smelled bad and looked worse before it got better but it healed like new. The other times when I tried to do what the vets here said it didn’t heal as well and took longer to heal. Hope that gives you an idea of what I did and don’t give up hope! Your horse will be sound again very soon!

    I would think a guy would instead of chasing him all around a huge pen and 'trying' to rope him and make him climb fences would think about putting him in a small enough pen he could maybe get the horse 'thinking' instead of fleeing and coming to you and then rope him where you cna help him. I just think you could have done better by the horse in a smaller pen

    • @HorsePerfect
      @HorsePerfect 7 днів тому

      I see the appeal of a smaller pen but the issue is none of them are round. If I trapped him in a smaller pen he’d have no option but to fight me and his fight instinct is strong. In a smaller pen he would be trying to escape me sooner and with less space to move he’d get in a corner and try to break through. There’s no perfect way to do it but I don’t think a smaller pen would have changed the outcome much.

      I’ve had horses that do exactly those things and I’ve had horses refuse to join up. Especially traumatized horses. Some just won’t and don’t want to connect it’s really sad. Probably 30% of horses actually have the correct temperament to join up properly.

    There's no way a wild, untouched horse will stand this calmly, let alone be willing to allow it's first human contact. It's trainers like you that ruin it for horse owners and horses. You set them up to fail, be disappointed, because they expect it to be this easy. To make matters worse, you set up the wild horse for failure because you teach humans that all horses should act this way. In the end, developing horses should be easy, an easy process, but that doesn't mean the horse is easy. Easy means we make it EASY FOR THE HORSE. We should always be compassionate and consider the horse. While this video is pleasing to the eye, you have many that show the horse rearing, bucking under saddle, absolutely frightened. It shouldn't be that way. We need to make it EASY for the horse, not easy for the human.

    I'm a "horse whisperer." Just like the character played by Robert Redford. Step one... I calm the stallion so that I can ride him. Step 2: on my first ride, I whisperer something encouraging into his ear. When I come back, you'd swear the horse was laughing. Step 3: after my second ride, the horse has his head down and looks depressed. I tell the ranchers that the job is done. They ask me how did you do that? I told them that they first ride out, I suggested that my penis was bigger than his. The second ride... I showed it to him. 😆🤣

    this is the first time he’s had someone on him?! Gives me hope for my boy. I’m just starting to do this with him. He does try to buck me off though.. do you have any suggestions for that? Thanks

    I don't think I'd leave a horse tied overnight like that. Hobbles, at best... bears and such.
